GT COLLEGE OF COMPUTING STUDENT RECRUITMENT
Our Virtual Reality application offered a one-of-a-kind experience for users to imagine themselves as College of Computing students.
Virtual Reality is quickly becoming an essential asset for off-campus student recruiting. Georgia Tech’s College of Computing offered prospective students a truly one-of-a-kind look into their prestigious campus culture with a Virtual Reality experience created by our Foundry 45 team. By guiding viewers through some of Georgia Tech’s lifestyle staples like the career fairs and the football games as well as showcasing on-campus learning facilities, Foundry 45 created a fun and engaging experience that bumped up the college’s student recruiting efforts.
From the lively campus atmosphere to Georgia Tech’s innovative classrooms, Foundry 45 meticulously curated the footage to ensure the 360-video experience would leave a lasting impression.
“It’s one thing to talk about student life and to hand out paper brochures. It’s another to put a VR headset in people’s hands and have kids and their families experience life at Georgia Tech by themselves. The whole thing of starting college becomes a lot less daunting and so much more memorable. People associated their fun VR memory with Georgia Tech.”
Recruiters used the above 360-video as well as VR apps available on the App Store and Play Store to demonstrate Georgia Tech’s culture in exciting new ways. The use of these complementary distribution platforms helped the college to maximize viewing traffic while providing a host of engaging viewing options. The variety of locations and information packed into the two-minute experience optimized the content for widespread engagement. Georgia Tech further supplemented content circulation by mailing over 300 cardboard headsets directly to prospective students to prompt app downloads!
Georgia Tech’s VR-powered student recruiting resulted in brand recognition across the board. For example, in developing this experience with our team Georgia Tech specifically wanted to target women among other groups, and recruiting efforts actually yielded an increase in female deposits to enroll. In addition, their video generated thousands of views and impressions across all their social media platforms. With hundreds of app downloads to date, Georgia Tech’s College of Computing VR experience created exactly the kind of buzz needed to attract future yellow jackets.
